You can also follow these instructions to learn how to open, split, and scrape a whole vanilla bean!

Our beans are triple inspected throughout the beans journey from Tanzania to the United States. First, they are inspected by our farmers who have hundreds of years of wisdom and experience growing these gourmet pods.  The second inspection is before bulk vacuum sealing for transport and to ensure no mold has developed. The final inspection is done at our warehouse moments before packing your shipment. We check the smell, quality, and appearance if any mold has developed a final time. Once all of these are checked, we vacuum seal our vanilla beans in our beautiful custom industrial vacuum pouch to a tight 28 HG vacuum.

  • Average Length is 6-9 inches (15cm - 21cm)
  • Traditionally cured Gourmet Planifolia Vanilla Beans from 2023-2024 crop
  • Vanilla flowers must be hand-pollinated, or vanilla beans would pretty much disappear from the global market
  • In tropical Mexico, traditionally, vanilla blossoms were naturally pollinated by local Melipona bees
  • While vanilla isn’t an ingredient in many traditional Hawaiian dishes, it is more popular than ever on the islands
  • Hawaiian vanilla beans are the planifolia species, so expect a traditional, familiar vanilla flavor with a wide variety of uses

Outdoors, vanilla grows up to about 25 degrees on each side of the equator. That’s why Hawaii is the only US state where it is viable to cultivate vanilla commercially.

Storage: Vacuum packed/sealed bag preferred to ensure fresh beans otherwise wrapped in zip lock bag inside an air tight container such as a glass jar. Shelf Life of approximately 2 years if properly vacuum sealed.

Great Hawaiian Beans

A very pleasant surprise for these clean, plump, oily beans! Pared these beans with Pau Maui, as recommended by many on the Co-Op FaceBook group. In no time, there beans have produced a dark liquid in just a few short weeks of the extraction process. Though pricy, I'm confident of the quality vanilla extract these Hawaiian Beans will yield. I would not go to any other business to procure my beans VBK is the best in quality, price, shipping, & customer service.

Chantelle

I really like this vanilla bean, it has it's own strength in sweetness. It is a lighter imparting flavor than Mexican or Madagascar. Pricey, so reason for 4 stars.

Amazing beans and so quick deliver

I purchased beans to start making vanilla again. Not only are these beans amazing, the envelop even smelled great. They arrived so fast I had not even purchased my vodka. Humor is Baptist minister wife slipping into ABC store to purchase vodka for her vanilla. I’m sure they had a chuckle.

Excellent

This company has always been incredible to work with, and while these are some of the most expensive beans, if you can afford them (or snag them on a Co-Op sale like I did) they're INCREDIBLE!! They smelled amazing when I took them out of the packaging and prepped a few different vanilla extracts.

100/10, would recommend this company and these beans.

Hawaii Beans

Beautiful beans from the islands of Hawaii. I love to use Maui Pau Vodka on these. Makes for a beautiful extract together.

Disappointed in results

The beans were lovely and smelled so nice. However, I did follow the directions strictly and over a year later the extract is quite weak. I think perhaps I just like a stronger vanilla.
